HAMMOCKS  AND  CHILD  SAFETY  !

Countless Hammock accidents occur annually and unfortunately  too many unnecessary child deaths occur where just one, is ONE too many!  There is documented proof that much more parental attention and a lot more parental or adult instructions of “Hammock  Guidelines” could-have AND would-have prevented many, many untimely family grieving. Adult instruction, or rather the lack of adult instruction is the main cause for most or possibly *all* Hammock accidents that have occurred.

Hammocks are to be enjoyed by all who climb aboard - -eliminate all grief possibilities.

It is very true that some Hammock designs or styles are potentially more dangerous for children than others. Is the problem in the Brand Name? maybe the Style? perhaps the Size? possibly the Material? Do we cast the blame to the manufacturers for their inferior product or is it that the product is NOT YET suited for the child or children.

NOTE:  Hammocks which do not have a spreader bar at each end should be considered as ‘not children friendly’. The spreader bars allow the Hammock to be maintained in a fully open position at all times with absolutely no chance for the Hammock to twist around a child’s neck causing a major scare for child and parents OR worse; possible strangulation, which has occurred numerous times. The wrap-around-twist normally occurs while the child is getting on or off the Hammock; worse, is allowing a child or children to play on a Hammock. A Hammock is not a toy and children should never to allowed to play on a Hammock; NEVER !
